Advertising Manager Job Duties
Advertising managers perform a variety of job duties, including:
oConsulting with clients to determine how to improve market share and sales.
oGathering and organizing information to help with decision-making regarding media placement, campaign length, featured products and services, and technical details
oEnsuring that a client’s needs are met and any concerns are addressed
oStaying in close communication with the client, answering questions, explaining strategy and providing status updates
oObtaining client approval on projects
oCommunicating client feedback to the creative team
oWorking to increase agency revenue by recommending new promotional opportunities or additional services
oPreparing advertising budgets, calendars and project schedules
oMeeting with the creative team during strategy sessions
oRecommending creative concept revisions according to the client’s needs and preferences
oNegotiating contracts and coordinating media placements
Although advertising managers typically work in an office environment, they may also travel to meet with clients and attend trade shows
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak and listen, as well as clearly express their ideas
•Ability to make swift decisions, work through stressful situations and solve problems quickly
•Creative personality
•Effective management and supervising skills
