In recent times the Satluj and Beas valleys have been joined by a road over this pass at the SW end of Srikand Dhar which divides the two river basins. It is open for vehicles at least nine months of the year; on the way an old fort and a lake are worth a visit, while there are panoramic views of the Parbati (Kullu) peaks, and the peaks of Lahaul and Kinnaur.
